As much as the general public bemoans advertising and marketing, we all know that just about everyone still has a particular campaign that they can’t resist. Every individual has an ad series that touches, entertains, intrigues, excites, or engages him or her in a way that others don’t.
While we can all debate what we consider to be the best ads of all time, a campaign isn’t truly great unless it has a major effect on the brand’s long-term success. It doesn’t matter if an ad makes you laugh or cry on the spot if it doesn’t eventually motivate you to buy.
This Hubspot article presents a dozen campaigns—some that were launched more than 60 years ago—that were major milestones in their brands’ history. Many of these not only brought immediate attention and sales boosts to their brands but also continued to be their respective brand platforms for many years, even decades.
