Association looks to reposition 2021 event on virtual platform
Washington, DC, September 10, 2020—David Franek, president and chief creative officer of TDC, announced that the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) is continuing its engagement with the agency through a new assignment that is focused on rebranding and repositioning its annual scientific meeting. In light of the ongoing uncertainty and widespread impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, SIR will be hosting its 2021 meeting as an exclusively online event and will look to TDC to develop an identity, messaging, and marketing assets that reflect this change.
“While SIR’s 2021 annual meeting will offer a different experience than in years past, it will still give attendees critically important opportunities to connect with audiences throughout the IR community and to gain new knowledge to advance the specialty,” said Franek. “This has always been a marquee event on the calendar of anyone associated with IR and we are committed to creating branding that strengthens this positioning while highlighting the digital aspects of the event.”
To build interest and help secure registrations for the upcoming meeting, TDC will develop a comprehensive marketing and communications campaign. Key components will include a redesigned meeting logo, a theme line, and core messaging; these will serve as the foundation for digital ads, social media ads, print ads, various graphic applicaitons, a style guide, and other assets.
SIR’s annual scientific meeting is regarded as the premier interventional radiology educational event in the world. It attracts more than 5,000 attendees from countries around the globe with 250-plus hours of education programming and more than 400 scientific presentations. The 2021 event will take place throughout the entire month of March and will feature numerous programs and sessions for practicing interventional radiologists, IRs in training, diagnostic radiologists, medical students, and IR practice associates.
