Research Association Completes Online Brand Transformation

The Design Channel rolls out website for SURA with more impactful presentation and greater utility

Washington, DC, May 26, 2015—David Franek, president and chief creative officer of The Design Channel, announced the launch today of the new website the firm created for SURA (Southeastern Universities Research Association). The site features a completely new look and feel from its previous version and will serve as a brand foundation for the organization going forward.

“The new website as a whole more accurately conveys what SURA is all about,” said Franek. “SURA facilitates transformational research that advances the frontiers of scientific knowledge, and we believe it’s important to immediately convey the organization’s dynamism and expertise throughout the site.”

In contrast to the previous website, the new one provides a more engaging user experience, from more intuitive navigation to enhanced messaging and story telling. The content managed, responsive design website was developed in the WordPress framework and also features SURA’s new tagline that was developed by TDC: “The Science of Collaborative Research.

In addition to having a more engaging public-facing presentation, the new site also offers greater functionality for SURA staff. A calendar module was integrated into the site, enabling employees to post internal event and personal schedule information in a more efficient manner. Furthermore, a human resources module was re-engineered and redesigned from the old site into the new one, providing SURA employees with easier access to administrative documents, office policies, and benefits information and forms.
